Mirimari Väyrynen

born 1976 in Helsinki, Finland

 

I´m a Finnish environmental painter. My artistic work is based on investigation of human´s relationship with nature and world.

 

I work mainly by painting. Nevertheless, I understand painting closely related to space, time, technology and research. Combining painting with other methods, I create installations which take their final form in an exhibition space.

I have graduated from the department of painting in Finland Turku Art Academy in 2001. I got my Master’s degree (MFA) from Aalto (Helsinki, Finland) University in 2013. I have also studied painting in a state art school, Santiago de Cuba, Cuba during 1997–1998. Autumn 2020 I started studies of Anthropology in the Helsinki Open University.
