ARTIST STATEMENT

I work with themes of ecology and approach environmental questions through motives and concepts of Landscape. I see landscape as ubiquitous social-, time-, and sensescape where perception and interaction with the world occur. I am especially interested in contemporary landscape as a process, as an embodiment of cultural and societal values, yet subordinate to globalisation, pollution and technology.

I work mainly by painting. Nevertheless, I understand painting closely related to space, time and objects and create installations which take their final form in an exhibition space. Due the time-consuming character of painting, time itself becomes essential part of the works´ content and I utilize painting, above all, as a tool for thinking.
